Lite by name but powerful by nature, Litecoin (LTC) is fifth biggest cryptocurrency in the world, with it sharing more than just a passing similarity to Bitcoin. Inspired by the market leader, the entire purpose of Litecoin is to be faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with it generally meeting this target. The differences between Litecoin and Bitcoin all come down to the nuts and bolts. Increased speed comes about through the addition of a new block into the blockchain, while its proof of work process makes it easier mine via PC - it’s also an early SegWit adopter. It might be Bitcoin’s younger, faster brother, but as time progresses it’s becoming a leading cryptocurrency in its own right. Litecoin is only going to go on to bigger and better things and we’re sure to keep you posted of any Litecoin developments as and when they happen.
