EOS has entered its 2.0 phase.

EOS 2.0

According to an official blog post from Block. One, EOS has a completely rebuilt virtual machine for processing smart contracts.

Our solution: build our own, designed from the ground up with blockchain in mind. EOS VM, our purpose-built blockchain WASM engine, runs the EOS Mechanics WASM CPU benchmarks up to 16x faster than Binaryen, which was released with EOSIO 1.0.

The new software stack utilizes a number of new features built into the latest version of EOS, including WebIDE and WebAuthn.

EOS currently plays host to numerous dApps, including a number of gambling dApps. Like Tron, it’s primarily used for gambling, at present, although that doesn’t always have to be the case.

The ability to settle transactions quickly makes EOS attractive for gambling developers, who want to be able to receive and send out money in a matter of seconds. EOS and Tron, among others, enable this behavior.

Gambling Chains

EOS sports super-fast transactions, like Tron and other blockchains.

It’s therefore ripe for usage for something, which is why gambling sites have latched onto it.

EOS will now be even faster, with a completely revamped virtual machine system. That should translate to a better transaction experience across the board, and faster settlement.

Will EOS see an increase in gambling dApps, or will new types of decentralized applications take advantage of the new system? Certainly things will be even faster than before.

Whatever happens, EOS will remain one of the great gambling chains.
