Bitcoin is “Pure Digital Gold” says Steve Wozniak

Steve Wozniak has always been something of a Bitcoin supporter. While his days as an Apple innovator are in the past, he’s certainly not been shy when it comes to discussing the recent wave of world-changing technological innovations – cryptocurrency included. In his latest interview, he discussed how the idea of Bitcoin potentially becoming the world’s “single currency” in the future shouldn’t be discarded.

Wozniak Endorses Dorsey View on Bitcoin

Echoing statements made by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Wozniak said, “I buy into what Jack Dorsey says, not that I necessarily believe it’s going to happen, but because I want it to be that way, that is so pure thinking.” At a time when Bitcoin is on something of a slide – enduring consistent loses – the need for mainstream backing has become crucial. Wozniak might not be the technology trailblazer he once was, but the positive words of a tech industry legend could go a long way.

Labeling Bitcoin as “pure digital gold”, it’s evident that he sees the leading cryptocurrency as a powerful investment commodity – even if he isn’t an active investor himself. “Only Bitcoin is pure digital gold and I totally buy into that. All the others tend to give up some of the aspects of Bitcoin. For example, being totally decentralized and having no central control. That’s the first one they have to give up to try to have a business model,” he said.

Wozniak did reveal that he owns a single Bitcoin and two Ethereum, but also reiterated that his investment doesn’t go beyond that. It had long been rumored that Wozniak had acquired large amounts of Bitcoin during the early days of its price rise, but this rumor has now been put to bed.

Woz Sees Bright Future

Looking to Bitcoin’s future, Dorsey’s bold predictions might have been laughed off by many, but not by Wozniack. The idea of there even being a single global currency could have been labeled as ridiculous in years gone by, but now it doesn’t seem out of the question. With Wozniack now “buying into” Dorsey’ vision, the potential for Bitcoin to burst through into the mainstream seems more likely than ever.
